Really nice pub grub, friendly staff. And proper chips.

Good selection of draft ales, reasonable prices.

I would recommend the posh fish fingers sandwiches!

Visited recently. At least a traditional English Pub with good old British Menu! Sandwiches and cold beer! Only one disadvantage :- The Steps up to and inside, not suitable for wheelchairs or people not able to climb them!

    There was
a sign up somewhere here that said 'New Friends always welcome' and that really
did seem to be their attitude. The friendly barmaid (who was incidentally
gorgeous) asked everyone questions about their day or about themselves.

Interesting food menu. I went for a tasty lasagne, washed down with a tasty
Exmoor wild cat. They had a good selection of ales. There is a rumoured haunting at Christmas where a young Victorian girl
holding a rag doll appears, smiles and then fades away.

The quay is a great place to while away a few hours - if you can cope with the steep walk down from town.

They serve up real ales and hearty food. Its definitely a local secret.

There are even some seats outside for you to lap up the sunshine and watch the world paddle/cycle/wander past.

The Prospect Inn has a fantastic location, right on Exeter's Quayside overlooking the river. The Quay can be bustling especially in the summer when there may be live music or food fairs in the open air, but more often you'll find swans and canoeists as your view.

The Prospect has plenty of tables outside, some across the road closer to the water too, so it is an ideal place for a summer drink or meal, but has cosy seating indoors too.

Eating here, I've been impressed with the food, which is basic pub fare but well produced and presented, and reasonably priced too.
